There is heavy traffic at Bulgaria's border control checkpoints with Romania and Turkiye, Border Police said on their website on Monday. The information is valid as at 6 am.

At the border with Romania, there is heavy traffic for outbound trucks at the Vidin, Kardam, Somovit and Oryahovo checkpoints. Due to repair works of the Giurgiu-Ruse bridge over the Danube on the Bulgarian side, traffic is controlled by traffic lights to let vehicles through in stages. Alternatives for the drivers in the region are the Silistra, Durankulak, Kaynardzha, and Kroushari crossings. The last two of these are closed to heavy-duty trucks; they are open to passenger cars from 8 am to 8 pm.

At the border with Turkiye, there is heavy traffic for outbound trucks at the Lesovo checkpoint. Temporarily, the passage through the Malko Tarnovo border checkpoint will be carried out on one route due to reconstruction of the checkpoint.

At the border with Greece, traffic is normal at all border checkpoints. Only cars and minibuses are allowed to pass through the Makaza, Zlatograd and Ivaylovgrad border checkpoints.

At the border with Serbia, traffic is normal at all border checkpoints. Due to a technical issue, there is a delay in processing trucks.

At the border with North Macedonia, traffic is normal at all border checkpoints.
