Initial analysis shows that the business will not be seriously affected if there is a price ceiling, caretaker Economy and Industry Minister Nikola Stoyanov said Monday on the air of Nova TV. Stoyanov commented on а bill on food mark-ups, published for public discussion, according to which 17 basic foods will have a mark-up of up to 10%. He said checks had shown that some of the mark-ups in shops reached an average of 70%-80%. Stoyanov noted his understanding that it would be an anti-market measure, which is why his ministry proposes that only 17 essential commodities will have a mark-up of up to 10%.
