An exhibition of modern Spanish caricature was presented at the Rose Museum in Kazanlak on Thursday. Special guests at the exhibition were cartoonist David Garcia Vivancos and Juan Garcia Cerrada, Executive Secretary of the University of Alcalá and Director of the Quevedo Institute of Arts of Humour in Spain, who is also the curator of the exhibition.

"The idea of the exhibition was to show the graphic humour and caricatures that are currently being made in Spain", said Cerrada. He noted that the art works cover current topics, such as the war in Ukraine and the Gaza Strip, emigration, drought, climate change and other issues that concern Spanish society at the moment.

"One of our goals with this visit is to make cultural connections between Bulgaria and Spain. This is the first joint project we are carrying out with the Chudomir Museum, and we hope it will be one of many. We are also working with the Union of Bulgarian Artists", said Cerrada. According to him, the exhibition will serve as a bridge to understanding the current Spanish reality and will encourage reflection on the similarities and differences between Spain and Bulgaria.

The opening of the exhibition was also attended by Dobrina Matova, Director of the Chudomir Literature and Art Museum, and Boris Kirchev, Chair of the Board of Directors of the Chudomir Foundation, as well as representatives of cultural institutes and the local administration. A music greeting was performed by Sarai Dias from the State Opera in Stara Zagora and the soloist of the Zagore Ensemble, Tsveti Bashkehaiova.
