Pianist Ludmil Angelov will perform with Austrian baritone Liviu Holender in Varna on Tuesday, said organizers of the Varna State Opera. This is the third chamber concert of the cycle:”Ludmil Angelov and Friends” after concerts with Swiss mezzo-soprano Marie Claude Chappuis in October and Turkish tenor Bulent Bezduz in December 2023. “I am very happy that this will take place in my home town thanks to the Varna State Opera,” said Angelov.

The programme features works by Franz Schubert and Gustav Mahler, arias from the “Marriage of Figaro”, “Tannhauser” and “Faust”. Ludmil Angelov, who is known as one of the best interpreters of Chopin, will play Prelude in C-sharp minor, Op.45

Holender is an Austrian operatic baritone, based at the Oper Frankfurt, where he has performed leading roles including the Count in Mozart's “Le nozze di Figaro”, Henrik in Carl Nielsen's “Maskarade” and Hans in Zemlinsky's “Der Traumgörge”.
