site.btaSecond Edition of MOYSE International Flute Competition to Take Place June 28 - July 2 in Sofia
Music is the most intimate and emotional art created by man, a universal language uniting places and cultures. It needs no translations, it speaks through sensitivity and intellectual values. The musician becomes not only an interpreter, but also a mediator of culture, the organisers said. New Bulgarian University and the Embassy of Italy in Sofia support the project.
Luisa Sello, Professor of Flute at NBU, has been appointed by the Music Department as the artistic director of the competition. It is her idea to expand the already existing friendship between Italian and Bulgarian institutions and to promote internationally the performance doctoral programme at NBU in the field of flute art.
Marcel and Louis Moyse are internationally renowned flutists who have had a major influence on the flute school in the twentieth century: in teaching, in composing and in publishing (editing) flute works.
The winners receive prizes, material gifts and concert opportunities.
