site.btaSofia to Host Ninth International Triennial of Graphic Arts
The Ninth International Triennial of Graphic Arts - Sofia will be unveiled on December 5. The event that will run until January 31, 2024, in all galleries of the Union of Bulgarian Artists will be accompanied by a series of exhibitions, talks and demonstrations, the organizers said.
An official award ceremony will take place at the event opening, when visitors will also be able to attend a solo exhibition of works by the previous Triennial's winner, Zhang Hui from China.
Other artists whose pieces will be exhibited include Mariana Smith from the US, Michael Kempson from Australia and Spaniards David Arteagoitia and Pedro Galilea. The first event of the Triennial was Smith's solo exhibition, which opened on November 23 and continues through December 6 at the Academy Gallery in Sofia.
The Triennial is a forum presenting current trends and achievements in modern graphic arts. Being an event with a 29-year history, it is among the significant international platforms in the field of visual arts, thanks to which thousands of graphic works by authors from over 40 countries around the world have been shown in Bulgaria, the organizers said.
