Works by Bulgarian Jewish painters from the collection of the Ruse Art Gallery will go on display at the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Berlin (BCIB) on November 3. The exhibition will mark the 80th anniversary of the rescue of the Bulgarian Jews from deportation to Nazi concentration camps during World War II. It has been organized by BCIB and the Bulgarian Embassy in Germany under the auspices of Ambassador Grigor Porozhanov, BCIB Director Borislav Petranov said for BG World, a news service of the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA).

The show will feature painters Marko Behar, Anna Kramer-Behar, David Perez, Petranka Katz, Eliezer Alsheh, Jack Avdala, Volodya Kenarev, Greddy Assa and Andrei Daniel.

BCIB will also host a klezmer music concert by the group Enigma of the Ruse State Opera on November 3. Enigma are a chamber orchestra comprising acclaimed instrumentalists from the Ruse State Opera Orchestra. Their repertoire includes original opuses and adaptations of inspiring works and masterpieces of classical chamber music of various periods and styles.

The concert will also feature Nadezhda Andreeva (flute), Zdravko Saraliev (clarinet) and Neli Petkova (vocals). It will be conducted by Viliana Valtcheva.
