The Sofia Philharmonic said Friday it is going on an international tour that will take them to Greece, Austria and Germany in October and November. They will perform under the baton of Maestro Nayden Todorov.

On October 22, in Thessaloniki, Greece, they will present Festive Overture by Veselin Stoyanov, Waltz by Maurice Ravel and Pictures from an Exhibition by Mussorgsky. As they perform Mussorgsky, they will be joined by musicians from the Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra.

The Thessaloniki musicians will return the visit and perform Beethoven's Ninth Symphony together with the Sofia Philharmonic Choir in Sofia's Bulgaria Hall on December 17.

On 5 November, the Sofia Philharmonic will perform in Vienna's Konzerthaus. The programme includes Beethoven's Violin Concerto in D major and Dvorak's Symphony No. 9. The soloist will be the young violinist Elias David Moncado.

November 7, 8 and 9 are the dates of the German tour concerts in Friesen, Stuttgart and Wiesbaden, respectively. The programme includes Beethoven's Violin Concerto in D major, Ravel's Waltz and Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition
