site.btaFrench Language Meetings 2023 Forum Focuses on Media and Citizenship Education

Incorporating media and citizenship education into classroom activities is the theme of the French Language Meetings 2023 forum, which will take place on October 13 and 14 at the Geo Milev English Language School in Ruse, said on Tuesday the French Institute in Bulgaria, which is organising the event together with the Association of Teachers of and in French.

The forum is aimed at Francophone teachers in Bulgaria, teachers of French and of French-language disciplines who work at all levels of education - from primary to high school, universities, French alliances and the French Institute in Bulgaria. Participants will seek answers to questions of how Francophone media can be applied in the classroom and how to use its resources, as well as what the role is of teachers of French and of disciplines in French. 

Through lectures and workshops, the event aims to encourage the exchange of ideas around the promotion of French in the pedagogical practices of Francophone teachers.

The event will be opened by Claudia Calvo, deputy advisor for cooperation and cultural activities and deputy director of the French Institute in Bulgaria, and Vyara Lyubenova, president of the Association of Teachers of and in French in Bulgaria, and Margarita Yanakieva-Yordanova, director of the Geo Milev School.

The speakers at the discussions will be representatives of French media education operator CLEMI, TV5Monde and Agora francophone, in partnership with France Éducation international and CREFECO.
