By order of Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov, Amelia Gesheva was appointed Deputy Minister of Culture on Tuesday.

Until now, Gesheva held the post of adviser to the political cabinet of the Minister of Culture. In 2017 - 2021, she served as Deputy Minister of Culture. In 2016 - 2017, she served as Plovdiv Municipality’s Deputy Mayor for culture and tourism. Previously, Gesheva held the positions of Director of the Municipal Institute "Ancient Plovdiv" and Head of the Department of European Integration, Ethnic and Demographic Affairs in the Plovdiv Regional Administration.

She holds a Master's degree in Bulgarian Language and History from Paisii Hilendarski University of Plovdiv and a Master's degree in Public Administration from the Technical University of Varna.
