Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) Director General Kiril Valchev and Press Trust of India President and CEO Vijay Joshi signed a cooperation agreement in Toronto, Canada, on Friday, during the 35th conference of MINDS International (Media Innovation Network), an association of 25 leading news agencies from around the world for collaboration in the field of information services.
The agreement stipulates that each side receives the other side's full set of English-language news feeds, and both sides have the right to use the information in their news services.
In addition, each of the two agencies will provide the other with a daily briefing on a significant news story from their respective country, with English text and photograph, which the other agency will publish on its distribution channels for free reading by all visitors to the respective sites, provided the source is explicitly identified.
The agreement also provides for the possibility of experience exchange and professional visits of journalists and other media professionals from both news agencies.
The Press Trust of India is headquartered in Delhi. The CEO and Editor-in-Chief of the agency is Vijay Joshi and the Chairman of the Board of Directors is Avik Sarkar.
So far, BTA has 34 such cooperation agreements.
