In partnership with the European Parliament, the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) is launching its second training programme for young journalists of Bulgaria's national and regional media.

The programme aims to familiarize trainees with the functioning of EU institutions, European policies, and their implementation in Member States on the basis of EU values. The trainers will be leading European affairs experts, experienced working journalists, representatives of the European Parliament Liaison Office in Bulgaria, as well as Bulgarian Members of the European Parliament.

The programme is divided into two modules: national and European. The module at the national level will last for three days, from November 6 to 8, and will take place in BTA’s building in Sofia. The module will present 10 trainees selected by a jury with general information about European institutions through presentations, lectures, and discussions. It will also include media work on the European Parliament’s legislative priorities. The European module will take place in February at the European Parliament in Brussels and will involve two out of the ten participants, who will be selected based on their results in the national module in Sofia.
