On Unification Day, September 6, the National Museum of Military History (NMMH) in Sofia will offer a thematic tour and film screenings at no additional cost for visitors, the NMMH press office said on Friday.

The tour will showcase important exhibits highlighting the events related to the unification of the Principality of Bulgaria and Eastern Rumelia in 1885.

Four short animation films will enhance visitors' experience of the Unification story. They describe the role of the military in the unification process, the diplomatic moves to encourage the international recognition of united Bulgaria and the battles of the Serbo-Bulgarian War of 1885.

The documentary film The Hour of Our Unity, directed by Svetoslav Ovtcharov and shot by cinematographer Ognyan Kalaydzhiev, will be screened in the movie room of the museum at 3 p.m.

Kids will be treated to an amusing game which will help them retrace the road of the Unification and its defence.
