site.btaParliament Chair: Government Will Be in Power until There Is Confidence in Most MPs

Parliament Chair Nataliya Kiselova told reporters here on Monday that the government will remain in power, as long as there is confidence in the majority of MPs in Parliament.
Kiselova was in the city for the celebration of Constitution Day, which was marked at Angel Kanchev University of Ruse. She delivered a lecture at the university on the Constitution and the administration of justice today.
In her statement for the media, she said that each parliamentary group has the opportunity to decide whether it supports the government or not. She added: "I do not participate in the Joint Governance Council. Each of the parliamentary groups has their representatives. I assume that when the council meets, this issue will be discussed."
Commenting on the public discontent over the poor conditions of the roads in Bulgaria, she said: "People have a right to be angry [about the persistent problems on the roads of Bulgaria]. Unfortunately, legislative amendments alone will not fix the problem. The Minister of Regional Development and Public Works (Ivan Ivanov) is taking quite serious measures, but this is not the purview of just one minister. Besides him, the Minister of Interior (Daniel Mitov) and the municipalities also have a responsibility."
