Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov will hold a meeting on road safety and the fight against road carnage on Tuesday, the government information service said.

Ministers, representatives of responsible agencies and NGOs will discuss road safety measures in light of organization, investment and control. The focus will be on accident black spots and stricter monitoring, the press release said.

The death of a 12-year-old girl on March 31 after a TIR truck hit a car on the road between two villages near the northern town of Pleven has sparked protests across Bulgaria. Protesters have demanded the resignation of the head of the Road Infrastructure Agency.
