Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev met the Ambassador of France to Bulgaria, Joel Meyer, at the Foreign Ministry here on Tuesday, the Ministry said in a press release.

The sides confirmed the excellent bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest, such as economy, security and defence, energy, and culture.

Georgiev and Meyer discussed the updated Roadmap to the Agreement for Strategic Partnership between Bulgaria and France from 2008, which is at the final stage of coordination and is to be signed soon.

The sides shared their views on current European and global topics. Minister Georgiev acquainted the French Ambassador with the progress of the process of Bulgaria’s accession to the eurozone and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), underlining that the country would continue to count on support from France.
