The Democracy, Rights and Freedoms (DRF) – MRF parliamentary group is expected on Tuesday, April 1, to decide whether to stay with the parliamentary majority and keep supporting the cabinet of Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov. "We are convening our collective leadership bodies on Tuesday to discuss the current situation and make a decision," the group's Floor Leader Dzhevdet Chakarov told a briefing in the National Assembly last week.

Chakarov voiced disappointment with what he sees as a failure of the majority to make the first steps towards taking "the Peevski model" apart (Delyan Peevski leads the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) – New Beginning). "We are witnessing a speedy reinforcement of that model. We are wondering, is there a new, informal ruling majority 'captured' by Peevski?", Chakarov said.

He complained that none of the regulatory agencies due to be elected by the National Assembly has been discussed within the majority format.
