In the early hours of Sunday, Bulgaria is switching to daylight saving time, the Bulgarian Institute of Metrology told BTA. At 3 am on March 30 the clocks will be moved forward by one hour. The change is in connection with a decision of the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union of March 19, 2001, the institute reminded.

On October 27, 2024, the country switched to standard astronomical time.

The change of the time to winter and summer time is regulated by Decree 94 of the Council of Ministers of March 13, 1997, a BTA reference shows. According to the decree, each year on the night opposite the last Sunday of October, standard time is introduced, and clocks are moved back one hour, and on the last Sunday of March, daylight saving time moves the clocks one hour forward.
