Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev met Monday with his Slovakian counterpart Juraj Blanar, who is on a one-day working visit to Sofia.
“We are strengthening our relations, the challenges before us are many, but so are the horizons that are opening up, so I believe that today we are taking an important step,” Georgiev told the media after the meeting.
Minister Georgiev noted how well the Bulgarian community is integrated in Slovakia and gave as an example that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the opening of the Hristo Botev Bulgarian secondary school in Bratislava.
Minister Juraj Blanar commented that he and his colleague discussed the possibilities for the growth of trade relations, and noted that the two countries have common interests mainly in the automotive industry, pharmaceuticals, information technologies, innovations and renewable energy sources.
