site.btaGovernment Adopts Governance Programme for 2025-2029

The Council of Ministers has adopted a Governance Programme for the period 2025-2029, the Government Information Service reported on Monday. The programme is the result of the united efforts of GERB-UDF, BSP-United Left and There Is Such a People political party, with the support of DRF-MRF. It was drawn up in the spirit of consensus and political responsibility to ensure stability, predictability and development of Bulgaria in the conditions of dynamic economic and geopolitical challenges and is based on the political priorities set out in the parliamentary majority agreement for the implementation of a governance programme. 

The vision for the governance of the country is towards the development of a modern, democratic and rule of law state with effective institutions, high living standards, long-term economic growth and social justice.

The Governance Programme contains priorities, objectives and measures aimed at:

- Financial stability and economic competitiveness;

- Integration of Bulgaria into the European economic and financial architecture;

- Effective and efficient management of the Cohesion Policy funds for the programming period 2021-2027 and the funds from donor programmes, as well as effective participation in the debate on the future of the Cohesion Policy for the period after 2028;

- Improving the quality of life of Bulgarian citizens through access to modern and efficient healthcare, quality education and a safe social environment;

- Energy security and independence, pursuing a strategy of diversification of energy sources, development of nuclear energy and investment in green technologies, with the aim of predictable and affordable prices for consumers; 

- Building an effective, transparent and fair justice system that ensures real access to justice, speed and transparency in judicial proceedings; 

- National security and foreign policy aimed at strengthening Bulgaria's position in the EU and the NAO while protecting the national interest and regional stability. 

The Governance Agenda is an expression of shared political responsibility for predictable, effective and modern governance. Through clear reforms, strategic investments and social responsibility, the Government will work for a stronger economy, a fairer society and a stable future for all Bulgarian citizens.
