site.btaChief of Defence Annual Conference Due February 25-26

The Annual Conference of the Chief of Defence will be held in Sofia between February 25 and 26, the Defence Ministry said on Monday.

On the first day, the Chief of Defence, Admiral Emil Eftimov, will review the condition and the preparedness of the Bulgarian Armed Forces in 2024.

The event will be attended by Defence Minister Atanas Zapryanov, top commanders of the Armed Forces, national representatives in NATO and EU commands, directorate chiefs at the Defence Staff and the Defence Ministry, and chiefs and commanders of agencies directly accountable to the Defence Minister. President and Supreme Commander-in-Chief Rumen Radev, the chairperson of the National Assembly Committee on Defence and senior executives of public institutions have also been invited to attend.

Guests will include Major General John Clark, Deputy Chief of Staff – Plans, Allied Joint Force Command Naples, and Commodore Sean Williams, Deputy Chief of Staff for Plans, Allied Maritime Command Northwood.
