One MP from Vazrazhdane has been detained and another two have been taken to hospital, MP Tsoncho Ganev told journalists.

Ganev said that the detained MP is Ivaylo Chorbov and that Angel Georgiev and Nikola Dimitrov were taken to ISUL University Hospital.

Ganev said that this is another government of Boyko Borissov, against which Vazrazhdane is protesting and once again they are beaten and sprayed with gas.

"A total of 604,000 people have said clearly that they want a referendum on whether we should join the eurozone," he added. According to him, the Euro-Atlantic parties have destroyed all possibilities for a democratic referendum.

“We want the resignation of the government, we will do everything that depends on us to block state institutions the laws are respected," said Tsoncho Ganev.

Asked about the escalation of tension and reports about injured policemen, the MP said that the police themselves had injured other policemen by spraying gas. According to him, there was no provocation on the part of the protesters.

Tensions flared earlier on Saturday in front of the European Commission's representation in Sofia after anti-euro protesters threw red paint and bombs at it. The door of the building was set on fire.

Six people were arrested and 10 police officers were injured.
