Hamas holds another hostage of Bulgarian origin, Israeli Ambassador to Bulgaria Yosef Levi-Sfari told journalists in response to a question about the release of hostages. The name of the hostage is Matan Angrest and we hope to see him back home, Levi-Sfari said.

He is a soldier. He was captured in the October 7, 2023 attack. The release of Hamas hostages is among the goals for Israel in this war, the Ambassador noted.

Days ago, the Palestinian armed group Hamas handed over four hostages to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Reuters and the Associated Press reported. Among them was 20-year-old Daniela Gilboa, who has Bulgarian citizenship. According to Ambassador Levy, Gilboa is under medical observation.

The Israeli Ambassador attended an event to mark International Day of Commemoration in memory of the victims of the Holocaust. The forum was organized at the House of Europe in Bulgaria.
