On Wednesday, December 11, the National Assembly will give a hearing to Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev, Foreign Minister Ivan Kondov and Interior Minister Atanas Ilkov on the measures which the government is taking to maintain security in Bulgaria amid developments in the Middle East, more specifically Syria. The invitation to the hearing came from MPs Atanas Zafirov and Borislav Gutsanov of the BSP-United Left parliamentary group, according to the legislature's agenda published on its website.
Energy Minister Vladimir Malinov is expected to speak in the National Assembly about the expansion of the underground natural gas storage facility at Chiren, Northwestern Bulgaria, and about how an ongoing probe by the European Public Prosecutor's Office into the EU-funded project is likely to impact the implementation of the deadlines. The question has been raised by Kiril Petkov and other MPs of Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria.
