A surge in luxury weddings of foreign couples has been recently reported in Turkiye, according to Turkish media. Istanbul and Bodrum are among the most sought-after locations, with Istanbul's Ciragan Palace hosting 90% of the high-end weddings in the megalopolis.

Turkiye has solidified its reputation as a global hotspot for luxury wedding tourism, attracting ultra-rich couples from around the world and contributing an estimated USD 3 billion to the country’s economy in 2024, Hurriyet reported.

Meltem Tepeler, a wedding planner, said that Turkiye has established itself as a top wedding destination, adding that there is a growing interest from affluent couples in East and Southeast Asia.

One of the standout events of 2024 was the USD 9 million wedding of an Indonesian businessman, Hurriyet added.

Those coming for weddings are exceptionally wealthy. They stay in luxury hotels and splurge on high-end goods, Tepeler said.
