President Rumen Radev congratulated Donald Trump on winning the US presidential elections in a post on X on Wednesday. "I am confident that our effective dialogue at the highest level will continue to the interest of the strategic partnership between the USA and Bulgaria," the post reads.

Addressing supporters in Florida on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, Republican candidate Trump claimed a "magnificent victory for the American people", without waiting for the final vote count. According to AP, Reuters, and the United States' big TV channels, Trump leads with 266  votes in the electoral college against 195 for Democratic candidate Kamala Harris.
