On this date in Bulgarian history:
1945: Bulgaria re-establishes diplomatic relations with the USSR (established July 23, 1934, severed September 5, 1944).
1958: Diplomatic relations are established with Iraq.
1963: Bulgaria's first electronic digital computer, Vitosha, goes into operation. Mainframe sized 4 by 2 metres has 4,096-word memory and is intended for mathematical and scientific calculations.
1984: Diplomatic relations are established with Maldives.
1991: Grand National Assembly ratifies European Cultural Convention of December 19, 1954.
