GERB leader Boyko Borissov, who spoke to reporters in Parliament here on Friday, commented on the constitutional amendments that were adopted in late 2023, saying that those amendments were moved by GERB-UDF, Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) and the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF), which is why all three parliamentary entities carry the responsibility, while he is hopeful that the judicial reform was right. The Constitutional Court is expected on Friday to rule on two appeals against the constitutional amendments.

Asked about the people who wrote the text to limit the President's authority in terms of the caretaker government and the option to only be able to choose a caretaker prime minister from a limited pool of positions, Borissov said, "All this was done by [CC-DB Co-chair] Hristo Ivanov and [MRF Co-chair Delyan] Peevski, and we supported them."

Asked if he considered it a mistake that GERB had supported the constitutional amendments, Borissov said that he never regrets the past, because "whining and feeling sorry would get you nowhere."
