site.btaParliament Adopts at First Reading State Budget Update Related to Increased List of Municipal Projects for Funding

Parliament adopted at first reading amendments to the State Budget Act for 2024 with 185 votes in favour, one against and one abstention. The budget update is related to the addition of 271 new projects to the investment programme of municipalities for a total of 2,529 approved projects on the list.

With the amendment of the investment programme for municipal projects, the estimated worth of projects for the entire period becomes BGN 6.226 billion, of which BGN 4.553 billion for 2024.

MPs agreed to reduce the deadline for proposals between the first and second readings of the current amendments to the State Budget Law to five days.
