site.btaProsecution Service: 359 Case Files, 93 Pre-trial Proceedings Initiated in Connection with Upcoming Elections

A total of 359 case files and 93 pre-trial proceedings have been initiated over violations of voters' rights between the start of the election campaign and 2:00 pm on June 8, the prosecuting magistracy reported here on Saturday. The information was provided in connection with Sunday's elections for national and European parliament.

The pre-trial proceedings have been initiated in the regions of Sofia - 31, Burgas - 27, Plovdiv - Varna - 23, Veliko Tarnovo - 7. 

The Supreme Prosecution Office has a unit of prosecutors and staff on duty to summarize the information received from prosecution offices across the country. 

The national interdepartmental unit continues working. It coordinates the work of the prosecution office, the Interior Ministry and the State Agency for National Security in ensuring quick and adequate response for countering crimes related to the election process and holding the European Parliament and national Parliament elections lawfully.
