World Environment Day will be marked at 2.30 p.m. at the initiative of the presidential institution in the University Botanical Garden in Balchik, the press secretariat of the Head of State said on Wednesday.

The event is organized jointly with the Sofia University and the Municipality of Balchik and will be attended by Environment Minister Petar Dimitrov, Education Minister Galin Tsokov, Sofia University Rector Georgi Valchev, Balchik Mayor Nikolay Angelov, representatives of the executive and local authorities and students from the region.

President Rumen Radev will greet the participants in the event and together with the rector and the mayor will plant saplings of white birch.
