Caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev voiced hope that President Rumen Radev will decree the proposed changes in the government. Glavchev spoke to Bulgarian journalists on Wednesday in Brussels, where he arrived to attend a two-day European Council meeting.

“I will fulfil my constitutional obligations and I have done so. I have given my proposals for issuing a decree. I have nothing more to say on the matter, it is up to President Rumen Radev. I urge him to fulfil his obligations under the Constitution,” the caretaker Prime Minister said.

“The suggestions are all mine. Circumstances happened in such a way that there were calls from party meetings. The delay in my first proposal was due to the fact that I was waiting for communication with the President, I thought that was correct. He is familiar with both changes,” Glavchev added.

Bulgaria cannot wait, two days are too long, the elections are at the door. The Foreign Ministry has a very serious role in organizing the elections. I have no confidence in the two ministers I have proposed for replacement as they cannot work at the pace I want. I want continuous communication, this applies to all ministers, and quick decisions. We really don't have time to wait, he said.

I am ready to continue the communication with President Radev on any issues - issues that concern the good future of the Bulgarian citizens. When I accepted the mandate, I said that we will not deviate from the European path of Bulgaria's development and we will keep it, Glavchev said.
