An international conference on challenges for multinational companies related to the General Data Protection Regulation, artificial intelligence and data management regulations will be held on April 19 in Sofia, the organizers from the American Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria said on Monday. The forum will be organized in partnership with Ingram Micro and with the support of Microsoft.
The topic is important because the work of multinational companies in Europe is influenced by the way new regulations are introduced in the area of data protection, the emergence of technologies with artificial intelligence, as well as regulations concerning data management, the organizers added. European and US companies are also affected by the wave of regulations that the European Commission and the European Parliament are initiating in their current mandate, they added.
Among the participants invited to take part in the conference are Ingram Macro’s Executive Vice President and Chief Digital Officer Sanjib Sahoo, Commission for Personal Data Protection Chair Ventsislav Karadjov, Microsoft’s EU Government Affairs Director Jeremy Rollison, Council for Electronic Media member Simona Veleva, and Ingram Micro Global Chief Privacy Officer Ronald Sarian, Professor of Data Protection at the USC Gould School of Law.
