site.btaTax and Social-Insurance Procedure Code Amended Conclusively

Parliament Wednesday amended conclusively the Tax and Social-Insurance Procedure Code to allow for a reduced administrative burden in exchange for a bank guarantee of BGN 1 million payable to the National Revenue Agency (NRA).

The amendments were proposed by Bozhidar Bozhanov and other MPs of Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria. Persons who have provided a total bank guarantee of no less than BGN 1 million are granted the legal possibility to reduce the administrative burden linked to the fiscal control exercised by the NRA on high fiscal risk goods by reducing the time needed to conduct control actions or checks on the movement of high fiscal risk goods - on the receipt, unloading and clearance of the transported goods.

During the debate, Toshko Yordanov MP of There Is Such a People said this was a lobbyists' proposal as a bank guarantee of BGN 1 million directly supports big businesses, big chain stores and big market players, and kills small ones.
