site.btaState Budget Act Amended on First Reading to Increase Municipalities' Budget-Financed Projects

Bulgaria's Parliament on Friday unanimously approved first-reading amendments to the 2024 State Budget Acy increasing the number of municipalities' budget-financed projects by 631 to a total of 2,258. The votes in favour were 161. 

The parliamentary Budget and Finance Committee pointed out in its report that the Finance Ministry has received letters from the mayors of 167 municipalities, enclosing 1,062 project proposals in aggregate. Of these, 54 were for replacement of projects contained in the annex to the law, 673 were for adding new projects in the annex, and 293 were for modification of projects already included in the annex.
