site.btaStudents from Razgrad and Harmanli to Compete at International STEM Competition in Greece
Students from the Aleko Konstantinov Primary School in Harmanli and from the Vasil Levski Primary School in Razgrad will represent Bulgaria at an international STEM and robotics competition in Greece at the end of March, said Venelin Nikolov, the robotics and information technology teacher of the Razgrad student team. The Bulgarian students will compete with their peers from 20 other countries.
The student teams of the two schools finished first and second in the national competition, which was hosted by the Razgrad school on Saturday. The competition was organised by STEM Education, who have 20 years of experience in introducing STEM and educational robotics in Southеast Europe. In the first stage of the competition, students developed projects that solve environmental problems in the Mediterranean. In the second stage, they created robots that play soccer against each other.
The team of the primary school in Harmanli finished first in both rounds, while the team of the Razgrad school took second place in the first round. According to the decision of the organisers of the international STEM competition, Bulgaria will be represented by the top two teams in the first round of the competition.
