site.btaCabinet Secures Free Textbooks for Children in Municipal Kindergartens, Schools

The Government has secured the funding needed to provide all children in schools and kindergartens with free textbooks, the Cabinet’s press service said on Tuesday. This transpired at a meeting between Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov and the management of the Bulgarian Book Association earlier in the day. Education and Science Minister Galin Tzokov also took part in the discussions.

The Cabinet will allocate an additional BGN 93 million for the purchase of textbooks, e-textbooks, and teaching aids for all children attending municipal kindergartens and schools in 2024. Free textbooks will be provided to students in grades 8-12 for the first time.
