Bulgaria's Defence Minister Todor Tagarev and Japan’s Ambassador Hisashi Michigami Monday discussed defence cooperation and both countries' contribution to global and regional security, Tagarev’s Ministry said. The firm and long-term support for Ukraine and the contribution to its post-war recovery were also touched upon.

The sides agreed that there are a number of opportunities to deepen their traditionally good cooperation. They also discussed the prospect of more intensive exchanges in crisis management, disaster response, and military education involving the Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy.
