site.btaTourism Ministry Completes Project under 2014-2020 Operational Programme Good Governance

Bulgaria’s Tourism Ministry has successfully completed the implementation of a project under the 2014-2020 Operational Programme Good Governance, co-financed by the European Union through the European Social Fund and Bulgaria’s state budget, the Ministry said on Thursday. The project is aimed at addressing the migration challenges posed by Russia’s military aggression in Ukraine and providing cohesion support to refugees who have arrived in Bulgaria through a measure implemented by the Ministry.

The project has fulfilled the objective of providing each Ukrainian refugee who received temporary protection in this country with overnight accommodation for the period May 1-17, 2022, with breakfast and lunch included. This is in line with the measures implemented by the Tourism Ministry under the Program for Humanitarian Assistance to Displaced Persons from Ukraine who have been Granted Temporary Protection in Bulgaria.

A total of 960,800 overnight stays have been funded under the project and 62,704 Ukrainian refugees have benefited from it.
