Bulgaria Is Presented in Vienna as Destination of Year-round Health Tourism
Bulgaria is being presented as a destination for year-round health tourism at an event in the Bulgarian Embassy, Vienna, November 21, 2024 (BTA Photo)

Bulgaria was presented in Vienna as a destination for year-round health tourism for users on the Austrian health insurance market. The event took place in the Bulgarian Embassy in the Austrian capital. 

It is the second edition of the event, which was organized by the Bulgarian Union of Balneology and Spa Tourism with support from from the Bulgarian Embassy. The guests were addressed by Siyka Katsarova, Chair of the Bulgarian Union and Vice President of the European Spa Association, by Bulgarian Ambassador Dessislava Naydenova - Gospodinova, Deputy Tourism Minister Irena Georgieva and Daniela Stoeva, Deputy Chair of the Association of Bulgarian Tour Operators and Tourist Agencies, and member of the Executive Bureau of the European Travel Agents' and Tour Operators' Associations. The event was moderated by Meglena Plougchieva, Ambassador of the Bulgarian Union of Balneology and Spa Tourism.

The event was mottoed "Bulgaria - Land of Three Ws: Wellness, Wine and Cultural Heritage" (Weltkulturerbe in German). 

BTA Director General Kiril Valchev was an official guest as BTA is a media partner of the Bulgarian Union of Balneology and Spa Tourism.

Among the guests were Peter Launsky-Tieffenthal, Special Representative of the Austrian Chancelor, Gerd Bommer, Regional Director Southeast Europe, Eastern Europe/Central Asia, ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA, Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, Niko Petković. Senior Project Manager at Vienna Economic Forum, Gerhard Reiweger, Chair of the Austria-Bulgaria Friendship Society, Ingrid Korosec, President of the Austrian Senior Citizens Association and Klaus Lorenz, tourism director at Baden near Vienna, among others.

Bulgaria was also represented by the mayor Galina Stoyanova of Kazanlak and Boran Hadzhiev of Chepelare, and members of the management of spa hotels in Belchin Banya and the resorts of Sunny Day, Albena, Sunny Beach and Golden Sands.
