site.btaBulgarian Insurers Association Call on Insurers to Extend Deadline for Filing Claims in Connection with Floods on Southern Black Sea Coast

The Association of Bulgarian Insurers (ABI) has appealed to insurers to extend the deadline for filing claims in related to the floods on the Southern Black Sea coast, as long as necessary, so that all victims can be safely met and served, the Association and the Interior Ministry said Saturday after a meeting in connection with numerous inquiries regarding the receipt of insurance claims in respect of material damage received from the South Black Sea floods.

The Ministry and the Association point out that when filing a claim, it is not necessary to submit documents certifying that such flooding occurred in this area and on this date. In the event that the property damaged is a motor vehicle, caravan or other type of trailer, its registration plates should not be removed. Once the insurer has been contacted, the insurers recommend that their instructions be strictly followed.

A state of disaster was declared on September 5, due to flooding and intense rainfall in Tsarevo Municipality. Two men and two women lost their lives in the disaster.
