Agriculture and Food Minister Kiril Vatev will confer with his Polish, Hungarian, Romanian and Slovakian counterparts in Warsaw, Poland, on Wednesday, his ministry said in a press release. The event is organized at the initiative of Poland.
According to Polish media and Reuters, Moldova will also be represented at the forum.
BTA recalls that in June Polish Agriculture Minister Robert Telus stressed that the upcoming meeting aims to explain that the EU is not only trying to help Ukraine, but at the same time trying not to have negative impact on local farmers.
The European Union has allocated additional funds for farmers in the countries affected by Ukrainian agriculture imports - first a funding package of EUR 56.3 million and then another EUR 100 million. Bulgaria was allocated EUR 26 million from the first package and another EUR 9.77 million from the second one.
