site.btaBulgaria May Request EU Aid in Dealing with Damage from Recent Flooding

Bulgaria may request aid from the EU for rebuilding of homes and provision of housing to people whose homes were damaged or destroyed by the recent heavy floodings in the area of Plovdiv and Karlovo, Southern Bulgaria, Bulgarian MEP Tsvetelina Penkova told Bulgarian reporters on Wednesday. In the European Parliament Penkova is a member of the Committee on Regional Development. She noted that more aid could be requested later for recovery efforts. Equipment for initial crisis reaction can be requested faster than financial resources, Penkova said.
