Dozens of chess lovers took part in the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the World Chess Federation (FIDE) in Skopje, which was organized by the Chess Federation of the Republic of North Macedonia. The event was attended by FIDE Director for Chess Development Nigel Short and Bulgarian chess grandmasters Antoaneta Stefanova and Petar Arnaudov.

Nigel Short greeted the attendees on behalf of FIDE and expressed his pleasure that Skopje is taking part in the anniversary celebrations, which are organised across the world.

The Chess Federation of North Macedonia has been FIDE member since 1991.
