Romanian border police officers in Kalafat detained a Bulgarian national after he was found to transport 40 kg of methamphetamine in a truck crossing the border from Bulgaria via the Vidin-Kalafat checkpoint, Romanian television Digi24 reported by quoting the local authorities.
The drug was discovered in plastic boxes hidden in the upholstery of the truck tractor unit.
The value of the substance is estimated at around EUR 1.61 million.
