site.btaTurkiye Supports Ukraine's Territorial Integrity on Anniversary of Russia's Annexation of Crimea
Turkiye's position on the issue of non-recognition of the illegal annexation of the Crimean Peninsula and support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine remains unchanged, confirmed a statement of the Turkish Foreign Ministry, issued on Saturday on the tenth anniversary of the annexation of Crimea by Russia, quoted by the Anadolu Agency.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry recalled that 10 years have passed since the annexation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea by the Russian Federation on the basis of an illegitimate referendum on March 16, 2014.
The Ministry stated that they will continue to closely monitor the development of events in Crimea and above all the situation of the Crimean Tatar Turks, one of the most important constituent communities of the peninsula, and view this as a priority.
The Ministry reaffirmed Turkiye's non-recognition of the situation, which essentially constitutes a violation of international law, as well as their support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine.
