Two men were arrested by police in Haskovo Region for illegal possession of over 3 kg of cocaine, the Regional Directorate of the Interior Ministry reported on Thursday.

On Wednesday, enforcers checked a car on the Maritsa Motorway driven by a 28-year-old Turkish citizen and carrying a 40-year-old passenger from Svilengrad. The officers found six packs of a white substance which tested positive for cocaine, weighing 3 kg. They also searched the home of the Svilengrad resident under the supervision of the prosecution office. There, they found another 150 g of cocaine, an unlawfully possessed firearm without a serial number and seven rounds of ammunition for it.

From the same place, the police impounded 185 articles of clothing counterfeited as trademark items. A 43-year-old occupant admitted to owning the articles. She and the two men were taken into 24-hour custody as pretrial proceedings were instituted.
