Bulgarian Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov will host a trilateral meeting with prime ministers Kyriakos Mitsotakis of Greece and Ion-Marcel Ciolacu of Romania, which will be held at Euxinograd Residence near the Black Sea city of Varna on October 9, the Government Information Service in Sofia reported on Friday. The talks will also be attended by European Commission Vice President Margaritis Schinas, European Commissioner for Transport Adina Valean and Moldova's Energy Minister Victor Parlicov.

The meeting will focus on regional connectivity, more specifically a future Greece-Bulgaria-Romania corridor from Thessaloniki via Kavala, Alexandroupolis, Burgas and Varna to Constanta, with a possible extension to Moldova. The idea is to build up-to-date transport, communication and energy infrastructure along the route to bolster the participating countries' economic and political relations.

The meeting was proposed by the Bulgarian government leader during a visit to Athens in August.
