International Tourism Revenue

January-November 2018 Y/Y


Sofia, January 19 (BTA) - International tourism revenue amounted to 3.6 billion euro in January-November 2018, up by 6.6 per cent compared to the like period of 2017, the Tourism Ministry reported, quoting data of the Bulgarian National Bank.

Foreign tourists' visits numbered over 8, 834 million, which is an increase of 4.9 per cent compared to January-November 2017.

Tourism Minister Nikolina Angelkova stressed the faster growth of revenue compared to the increase of tourist visits' number.

The Tourism Ministry expects this stable upward trend in revenue to continue in December 2018 and to report a successful year for the tourism sector.

In November 2018 alone, international tourism revenue exceeded 140 million euro, up by 2.3 per cent from November 2017.
