January 30 (BTA) - The work of the Border Police Directorate
General was presented Wednesday to visiting Danish Immigration,
Integration and Housing Minister Inger Stojberg. For more than
hour the guest, accompanied by Bulgarian Interior Minister
Mladen Marinov, the Border Police head, Chief Commissioner
Svetlan Kichikov, and Border Police officers discussed topics
related to the protection and security of the external EU
border, the Interior Ministry said in a press release.

After the meeting, the two ministers visited the joint
trilateral contact centre at the Kapitan Andreevo checkpoint.
The centre, set up in 2015, is used for exchange of real-time
information between Bulgaria, Greece and Turkey. The three
countries also solve issues relating to customs cooperation,
illegal migration, drugs trafficking, etc. In 2018 the Centre
handled more than 700 inquiries. RY/ZH
